Are You Wasting Time When You Could Be Getting More Life Insurance Leads?
As you probably know, early in my career, I was against the ropes and slipping down for the final count. Literally, I was barely hanging on by a thread. Looking back, the only thing that kept me from throwing in the towel was pure stubbornness.
I reached a point that I decided to give everything I had… every once of energy… every penny… and use every resource available to me to make this business work. I spent all of my spare time doing research on marketing and testing the results of my research. I used every angle to dig myself out of the ditch I was in.
Before long I had went from barley scraping by at $37,500 a year to making over $435,000 in first year commissions, and I have never looked back since.
Lee Iacocca and Donald Trump
Lee Iacocca did many things to tilt the odds to his advantage when he stepped in to rescue Chrysler. He perused a government-backed bailout, he slashed operating costs, he rushed the design and release of exciting new cars, he went on TV personally in Chrysler commercials and took his case to the public.
He even negotiated with unions and employees to find neutral ground. He clearly did whatever he needed to do to make things turn out for the best.
Think about how Donald Trump battled bankruptcy on several occasions…While at the same time continuing to wheel and deal to keep the ball rolling. If he had laid back even for a moment, it would have been over for him.
Take Massive Action
If you ever find yourself in a situation that leaves you barely surviving… taking 1 or 2 actions to change your circumstances may not be enough to keep you alive. No, to turn your situation around to point of “Profound Success” in which both Donald Trump and Lee Iacocca have displayed, calls for “Massive Action!”
Several authors have written on this topic in great length such as Jim Rohn. Jim Rohn says that when you look closely at the highly successful people in any field, you walk away saying to yourself: “It’s no wonder he’s doing so well… Look at everything he’s doing.”
Track Your Time to Determine Where You are Wasting It
So here’s a project for you: At the end of the day, add up the time you spent doing things that will get you more life insurance leads and increase your commissions (write it down). Then add up the time you wasted either doing nothing or doing menial tasks that do little for increasing your commissions (write it down). Now write down 50 ways that you could have used your time more productively to increase your commissions. Your project for tomorrow: Start implementing that list into your daily routine.
