Even without seeing the picture, I think you get the point. We all do some bonehead things sometimes.
When I was a kid, I used to rake the leaves in our yard. I would spend hours for days on end. And usually it took a few times during the fall to get them all. Raking and raking. Then one day, my mom brought me a tarp from the shed. Instead of raking the leaves all the way to the road, I could rake them onto the tarp and drag them to the road in half the time. Sometimes the answer to your problem is right under your nose… but your head is usually in the clouds.
No matter how smart you are, when it comes to habits, routines and imbedded belief systems, and when you become emotionally invested in doing things “your way,” you become blinded to other options… You develop tunnel vision allowing you to see only what you expect to see. Fortunately there is a remedy. The key is to not fall into a rut. You have to shake things up once in a while. Break out of your day to day routine at least once a month and do something that is mentally challenging or inspiring. Bring in fresh eyes to check your work and a fresh mind to get a different perspective on things. Read a lot. Question yourself on why you are doing something a certain way or ask yourself if there is a better way to get fresh life insurance leads.
